Description

John is a senior lecturer with the University of Chester (Masters Degree in Neuromuscular Therapy) and NTC. An accredited Physiologist (BASES) and Clinical Anatomist (BACA and Anatomical Society). John offers dissection courses in Dundee University, King’s College, London, Imperial College London and Internationally. John is the founder of European Neuromuscular Therapy, Biotensegrity pioneer and author of several books “Concise Book of Muscles” (co-author 3rd edition), “Concise Book of Neuromuscular Therapy” and “Healing through Trigger Point Therapy: A Guide to Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction”, and “Concise Book of Dry Needling”-Practical Applications for Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling.

Having completed this workshop the learner will:

  • Describe human continuity from an embryological viewpoint- using hierarchical knowledge of anatomy to target the true source of insult
  • Illustrate how biotensegrity is the architectural framework of our fascial form
  • Discuss why human anatomy is based on a 4th dimension (using both a visual and tactile demonstration)
  • Explain how force transfer is possible from skilled practitioner to patient using resonance that is cell-specific, individual to the patient and complementary to FSM
  • Critique current well held models such as biomechanics using a science-based approach and offer a new vision of anatomy and motion
  • Theorize why Biotensegrity-Anatomy for the 21st Century explains human movement in a new and exciting way
  • Apply new techniques based on biotensegrity principles that complement FSM and can be used and integrated into practice right away

“Everything that you normally think about – neuromuscular regulation, metabolic activity, improvement of circulation, breath, softening of the connective tissue are all the effects we will be influencing. I am very excited to share my 37 years of experience with FSM course participants and I look forward to meeting all of you” – John.

He completed undergraduate and post-graduate studies in the areas of exercise physiology, clinical anatomy and holds post-graduate qualifications in education. He is currently a senior lecturer within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Life Sciences, University of Chester/NTC, Dublin and is the program leader of the Biotensegrity focused full-body Thiel soft fix cadaver dissection courses held at the department of anatomy and human identification, Dundee University, Scotland. John also offers dissection courses across the globe.

John has been delivering human anatomy dissection courses for many years teaching the geometry of anatomy and movement from the unique Biotensegrity-Anatomy for the 21st Century perspective. His presentations are respectful, dynamic, entertaining, educational and insightful.

John promotes his model of “Biotensegrity-anatomy for the 21st century” integrating the pioneering work of his mentor Dr. Stephen Levin MD. John has been teaching European Neuromuscular Therapy using living anatomy and specializing in chronic pain conditions. He is recognized as one of the worlds leading authorities on Fascia and Biotensegrity.  He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies (JBMT), International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine and other professional journals.
