The FSM Adjunct Faculty lectures in the afternoon every year at the FSM Advanced course. The adjunct faculty changes every year because FSM practitioners need a variety of information from various skill backgrounds to support their use of FSM in the diverse conditions that FSM can treat.
Carolyn McMakin, MA, DC
Carolyn McMakin, MA, DC, is the pioneer and developer of Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy. Since 1996, she has lectured internationally on the use of FSM for treating pain, sports injuries, and complex medical conditions.
Dr. McMakin served on the faculty of the National University of Natural Medicine and maintains a clinical practice in Portland, Oregon. She is the author of two groundbreaking books on FSM therapy and has published multiple peer-reviewed papers demonstrating FSM’s effectiveness in treating conditions such as myofascial pain, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain.
Through her seminars and clinical work, Dr. McMakin continues to advance the field of FSM while training practitioners worldwide in this innovative therapeutic approach.
Kim Pittis, LCSP (PHYS), MT
Kim Pittis, LCSP (PHYS), MT, is the director and lead instructor of FSM Sports, a specialized certification program focused on Frequency Specific Microcurrent applications in sports and physical medicine.
With over 20 years of experience in sports therapy, Kim was the first practitioner to become a Certified Advanced Practitioner and Core Practicum Instructor of FSM in Canada before relocating to California. She maintains a private practice in the Bay Area, where she treats professional, Olympic, and amateur athletes using an integrated approach that combines osteopathic-based assessments with myofascial manual therapies.
As co-host of the Frequency Specific Microcurrent podcast with Dr. Carolyn McMakin and co-instructor of the Pain and Injury FSM Modules, Kim continues to advance the field while training practitioners worldwide in FSM applications for sports and rehabilitative medicine.
David Musnick, MD
Dr. David Musnick, MD, has been a core faculty member for Frequency Specific Microcurrent training since 2000, He teaches the Neuro and Visceral FSM Core seminar. He is an expert in applying FSM for treating brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system conditions, as well as disc, muscle, and facet disorders.
Board-certified in Sports Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Functional Medicine, Dr. Musnick has developed innovative approaches combining FSM with functional medicine for pain management and traumatic brain injury treatment. He recently relocated his practice to Idaho in 2022, where he continues to integrate FSM into his comprehensive treatment protocols.
Dr. Musnick has authored numerous book chapters, including contributions to “Integrative Neurology” (Oxford University Press, 2020) and “Metabolic Therapies in Orthopedics,” and brings over three decades of clinical experience to his FSM teaching and practice.
