⚠️ Before You Register: Licensing & Scope of Practice
This is the most important section on this page. Please read it carefully.
FSM is delivered using a microcurrent electrical stimulation device. Before registering for any FSM training, you must verify that your license and your state allow you to use electrical stimulation on patients. This is your responsibility, and it varies significantly by profession and by state.
Physicians (MD/DO), Chiropractors (DC), Physical Therapists (PT/DPT), Naturopathic Doctors (ND), Nurse Practitioners (NP) — Electrical stimulation is commonly within scope for these professions, but always confirm with your state licensing board before registering.
Acupuncturists (LAc) — FSM training is approved by the California Acupuncture Board and the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). Most state acupuncture boards accept California Acupuncture Board approval, but acceptance is not guaranteed in every state. Please verify with your own state board before registering.
Occupational Therapists (OT) — Scope of practice for electrical stimulation varies by state and clinical setting. Confirm with your licensing board before registering.
⚠ Massage Therapists (LMT) — Electrical stimulation is only approved within massage therapy scope of practice in a small number of states. If you are a licensed massage therapist, it is critical that you verify with your state massage therapy board before registering. We want you to be able to use what you learn.
All other licensed practitioners — If you are unsure whether electrical stimulation falls within your scope of practice in your state, contact your licensing board directly before registering.
