Juliana Mortenson is a physician physicist, in the proud tradition of Heinrich Helmholtz.  She has had a life-long interest in the interactions of energy fields with biologic organisms.  Dr. Mortenson began her studies at The Ohio State University in microbiology, and was admitted to medical school at Ohio State as an early admission student, without a bachelor’s degree.  In 1982 Dr. Mortenson graduated with both a B.S and an M.D.

She was accepted to an internship and residency program in anesthesia at OSU Hospitals.  When she informed her new anesthesia department of an unexpected pregnancy, Dr. Mortenson was told by her department Chairman that because of her pregnancy she was no longer welcome in the residency program.  She pressed forward and persuaded the Chairman’s superiors to over-rule him, which did not endear her to the Chairman at all.  Dr. Mortenson persevered and  completed her anesthesia residency at the OSU Hospitals in 1985.  Her handsome twin boys had just turned three (3) years old.
